Bill S.978 Explained

This bill has as principal objective, to make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted material a felony, what this bill mainly targets is stoping ilegal streaming or distribution of music and movies. Don't missunderstand, this bill doesn't target the youtube/gaming community.
Dont panic, this bill has not been approved by the senate. This bill doesn't affect the comunity as much, what this bill does is give the US goverment the right to affect copyrighted material, if game developers/publishers wanted to do that, they could do it right now, but they don't because youtube and other video material about video games do not give the viewer the full game exprience, also videos like Lets Play are a excellent advertisement (just look at minecraft).


This is not as bad as it looks and theres no reason to overreact, even if the bill passes game developers/publishers will probably (just me speculating) modify the licence to allow video making on there content.
