Duke Nukem is Back!

Some years ago we interviewed Jon St. John, the one and only guy who gave his voice to Duke Nukem, one of the most famous videogame characters in the 90s. Well Duke Nukem 3D turns 20 this year and Gearbox has revealed the special Duke Nukem: 20th Anniversary World Tour. It will be the first time Duke Nukem appears on the new generation and a whole new episode will be added to the already 20 year old classic.

For this special edition Gearbox has decided to really please fans by keeping Duke Nukem´s old art style and bringing familiar faces to the game. Jon St. John will return to voice Duke and will even re-record some of Duke´s old lines, Allen Blum III the original creator will design the new level, Levelord will provide new content and Lee Jackson new music.

This time good old Nuke will travel around the world saving hot babes and killing aliens with a new weapon, the incinerator, a flamethrower that had already been written in the code of the game but was never before usable. Players will also be capable of fighting in eight-player multiplayer matches, or to play the game with up to eight different players in co-op multiplayer and also will be capable of rewinding the game in case they die or f*ck something up with the new rewind feature.

The  game will launch on october 11 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One for $20. For more information be sure to follow our facebook.

We Talk: With Jon St. John (Duke Nukem)

Joes got an interview with a video game legend, Jon St John, the Voice Actor for Duke Nukem, one of the best and greatest Voice Actors of all time, and he is one of the greatest guys he has ever interviewed, Jon was really nice, so nice that he answer all of our questions even the awkward ones, he even made us a little something we will show you at the end of the interview!, so be sure to read it to the end to find out how Jon started in the Voice Acting industry and how he became Duke Nukem.

•How long have you been working as a voice actor?
Including my radio career (which started it all for me) it has been
well over 30 years. I started voice acting for video games in 1995.

•Where did you start? And how? I started while working at a classic rock radio station in San Diego when I was fortunate enough to meet Lani Minella, one of the top video games casting directors. She recognized my vocal abilities and asked if I would be interested in video game work and I jumped at the opportunity.

•Who was your first game character you gave voice to? I wish I could tell you what the very first character was, but I really do not recall. AMONG the first few was Duke Nukem...so I like to say Duke was the first.

•How was for you to give voice to one of the most loved, known and awesome characters ever, Duke Nukem? It was the best! Other voice actors that I appear with at conventions have often said that's the one character they wish they could have been. I'm honored to be the voice of the world's most famous FPS character...Duke is such a bad-ass!

Next We Talk Will Feature A Gaming Legend

Joes' next We Talk interview will be with a gaming icon and legend, Jon St John! He is the guy behind Duke's voice and plenty of more characters in the gaming world, such as various Sonic characters and more, but also he has worked in radios and commercials such as the Sponge Bob Square Pant.
Joes really did it win this one and he would love if you check the interview and tell to your friends about it. :)
The interview will be up in less than a week when everything will be done.

Duke Nukem Forever Fully Loaded Package

Today I was checking my twitter and I saw a post of the guy behind Duke's voice, Jon st John showing the fully loaded package, an special edition of the game that comes with something really really cool, the special edition comes with Duke's belt buckle, a custom metallic mouse pad of Duke Nukem, the typical art book, and a really weird item that you don't see normally in collector's edition a custom graphics card! A GeForce nvidia graphics card with Duke's typical colors and radioactive sign.
Yeah, this information is "old" but we think is worthy don't you?
Because the card has a normal price of $200 but just for $45 more you get the game a belt buckle and art book, or do you prefer the card without the game?

People hates Duke Nukem Forever?

Well looks like it, the metacritic user score is 4.8/10 while the press reviews are a 56/100 and the GameStats ratings are 5.5/10 for press and a better 5.8/10 for gamer reviews, the major complains about the games are the bad and outdated graphics, the stupid option for Duke to only carry two guns and the lack of new enemies or bosses in this "new" game that looks more like Duke Nukem 3D but adapted to the consoles of this era and the lack of new and crazy guns like in previous games, yeah probably the game has a new story or purpose but doesnt brings nothing new to the table (gaming industry), other major complain is a level were Duke doesnt kill or hits something for 30 minutes, that isnt the Nuke we love.
So what this tells us is that 14 years waiting for a game wasnt worth it and who knows maybe some fans of Duke Nukem are pissed off.
So tell us did you hate the game when you played it?
